 Cholesterol Improver!, 2008-01-12
My Dr. prescribed a Rx for this when I was first found to have a lowering of my HDL. While taking the first prescription which was expensive as it was not available in a generic drug at that time, I started researching it's composition and found it to be primarily a highly refined version of vitamin B-3 (Niacin). I switch to this instead of the Rx after the first 30 days and it worked just as well as the Rx. My Dr. eventually raised me up to 2500 Mg/day until my HDL reached a good level. I've sinced switched off to just Omega 3 fatty acid (Fish Oil) which did not maintain my level as the B-3, but had none of the flushing side effect. Now I'm back with a combo of the two, taking 2400 mg Fish Oil plus 500 mg B-3 which has improved the HDL since the previous check.

Good price and quick shipping, 2007-10-20
You gotta make sure you take it on a full stomach - otherwise, gentlemen, you will get a taste of what our lady-friends call a 'hot-flash'. (My hat's off to the ladies.) - wait a minute - I used the 1000mg - not the 500. But its effect on my triglycerides will be known a few weeks hence. If it works - I will continue them - if not - I will not.

Twinlab Niacin is consistently the best, 2007-08-01
I have to take large quantities of niacin to manage a cholesterol problem. Twinlabs has the most CONSISTENT product out there. That might sound strange to one who doesn't take therapeutic doses of niacin, but for those of us who do, it means fewer side effects. The best way to describe the niacin flush is that it feels like a "sunburn in my blood"!
My only gripe is that it is hard to find---that is, until I found it here on Amazon!

Not all niacin are the same, 2007-06-09
My doctor said that TwinLab's niacin seems to work 'better' than other brands. Being able to order it in bulk from Amazon, and have automatic re-fills make it easy, and at a good price too compared to buying bottles at health food stores.
