Average Customer Rating: (1 reviews)

Editorial Review: Inositol Hexanicotinate. Twinlab No-Flush Niacin (Inositol Hexanicotinate) is an ester compound formed from a six-to-one (6:1) molar ration of niacin and inositol. Its unique properties allow for true niacin activity without niacin's characteristic flush. Each specially formulated, highly concentrated capsule contains only the finest quality no-flush niacin (Inositol Hexanicotinate). Each capsule is free of coatings and colors which may cause adverse reactions in people with allergies or on special diets. Free of corn, soy yeast, wheat, milk and egg products. No added sugar, salt or preservatives.

Caution - Not Equivalent to Extended-Release Niacin, 2007-08-07
If you have elevated cholesterol and your physician has recommended extended-release niacin, you need to be aware that inositol hexanicotinate is not equivalent to the extended-release niacin normally prescribed for this indication. Human clinical trials that have investigated the cholesterol-lowering effects of this substance have not been impressive. For a brief review, see the following article: "Flush-Free Niacin": Dietary Supplement May Be "Benefit-Free", by Robert B. Norris MD, in Preventive Cardiology, Winter 2006, pages 64-65. I suggest checking with your physician before making any substitution.
